Hey, everyone, glad to see someone is picking up the LJ U of A slack!  What ever happened to the old group?

Anyway, here's a question.  Does anyone know if, as a student, you can have a non-student UA job during the school year?  Right now I work part-time for the museum, and they want to keep me on at 10 hours a week when I start school.  But lately I have been having absolute HR nightmares about switching myself from an employee to a student, and now I'm paranoid they're going to throw a fit about me holding a non-student position.  As a side note, is there an HR department specifically FOR students that I could go talk to?  I should practically know them all by name by now, but you know how these things go :)

Why can't you just stay an employee and let them work around your schedule? (I'm both and employee and a student here)

hopefully that is what happens, with no issues. but right now I am having problems with them processing my hiring forms for a student position. . .since I'm currently classified as a general employee until august, they can't hire me for a student position until the system SAYS I'm a student. It's sort of ridiculous. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen the other way around.

oh, and right now I'm part time/no benefits, so I'm not getting tuition reduction or anything. if only :)
